My Favorite Destiel Fics

So, since I have not read as much destiel fanfiction as I have read other ships, I unfortunately only have a top three fics to post here.

1) Twist and Shout by gabriel, standbyme

(yes, I know this is the most popular destiel fic there is, but it's one of those things you immediately associate with them, and why certain phrases will always make you cry)

-Summary: What begins as a transforming love between Dean Winchester and Castiel Novak in the summer of 1965 quickly derails into something far more tumultuous when Dean is drafted in the Vietnam War. Though the two both voice their relationship is one where saying goodbye is never a real truth, their story becomes fraught with the tragedy of circumstance. In an era where homosexuality was especially vulnerable, Twist and Shout is the story of the love transcending time, returning over and over in its many forms, as faithful as the sea.

2) Sunshine Days Retreats by Pigzxo

-Summary: Dean and Cas set out on a case at the Sunshine Days Retreat, intent on catching whoever's been killing couples and leaving their bodies in the woods. What they don't realize is that Sunshine Days is a couple's retreat and in order to keep their cover, they'll have to pretend to be in a troubled marriage. As the case moves forward, being in therapy together forces Cas and Dean to face their feelings for each other.

3) An Exercise in "worthless" by beastofthesky

-Summary: "I mean, you’re–” He gestures at Cas, in his neat oxford shirt and nice pants. “–and I’m a high school dropout who tattoos for a living.” Wherein Dean makes a hefty living as a tattoo artist who owns the space next to Gabriel's cafe. Sam attends the local university. When Gabe's cousin comes to live with him while starting grad school at Sam's university, Dean thinks for sure that all his negative karma's coming to bite him in the ass because Cas clearly has a thing for Sam. No one would ever choose him over Sam. That's just logic.
